Hope. Change. Karma?

I am so enamored by our country’s history. I am amazed to hear that the bible used during Abraham Lincoln’s presidential inauguration is the one that Barack Obama has selected for his own inauguration. That’s pretty cool.

Then I remember reading that Obama has selected JFK’s desk for the oval office. That’s pretty cool too.

But then I thought… dude, are you tempting fate or what? What will Obama pick next: William McKinley’s fountain pen? James Garfield’s bed? What about Martin Luther King’s microphone or Robert F. Kennedy’s letter opener while you are at it.

I know, it’s a stretch. But the bible and the desk. Is Obama doing this out of historical importance, ego, or both? I certainly hope and pray that he does not meet a similar fate.
