Meghan McCain has been getting lots of airtime lately and I’m wondering why people care what she thinks. She’s sweet, attractive, young, and supposedly a Conservative. I’m just puzzled as to why she is getting any press coverage at all. Until she does something she’s just another 25yr-old daughter from a wealthy family riding the coattails of her parent’s fame. I wont’ go as far as calling her the next Paris Hilton, but who really cares what she has to say? She’s still finding herself, and the fact that she’s letting a poll decide what her next tattoo is going to be tells me all that I need to know about her. (If you are wondering, the word “McCain” in Gothic letters on the back of her neck is winning.) And, according to her Twitter page, she is now listening to Brit “comedian” Russell Brand, best known in the US for dressing up as Osama bin Laden on the day after the September 11 terrorist attack, and more recently for bashing the Palin family while he hosted the MTV Music Awards. Maybe he’s funny at times, but he’s also clueless when it comes to politics and is not someone that any decent conservative would be listening to.
Again, I’m sure she’s sweet and well-intended. But given all of the things going on in the world I just don’t get it. Looking back, do you you realize how woefully clueless we all were at that age? Maybe you’re not old enough to realize it yet, but you will someday.
