Center Square, the underpinning of the MSM is anonymous sources, which are unverified and undocumented to those outside any spoecific entity within the MSM (like the New York Times).

Often the New York Times, WaPo, washington Times and so on will get their info from anonymous sources, just like this email. We don't know if the email is legit, just like we often don't know if those anonymous sources are legit.

In the end, if its good enough for NYT and WaPo, its good enough for Macsmind. It just works that way.

I agree CenterSquare, the sergeant quote is not verified. But given the amount of ridiculously flawed new the mainstream media has reported based on equally unverified/unnamed sources, I'm comfortable posting this link. It's not like I get many visitors. :-)

And, if it is true, yes, he met with energetic supporters (those that voted for him). But none of the actual press reports stated it as a "meeting with Obama voters," it was presented as a surprise visit that showed how popular Obama is among the military. Smoe, mirrors, a.k.a. bull.

Thanks for visiting and commenting!

One, if you trace back through all the links, it will take you to http://macsmind.com/wordpress/2009/04/07/about-that-obama-iraq-visit/. This blog cites an unspecified and undocumented email that reads, “We were pre-screened, asked by officials “Who voted for Obama?”, and then those who raised their hands were shuffled to the front of the receiving line. They even handed out digital cameras and asked them to hold them up.” Not to say that the blog is lying, but just let it be understood that the underlying source of this claim cannot be verified. I could just as easily create a post saying the opposite, couldn't I?

Two, even if true, this claim actually CONFIRMS that the soldiers seen with Pres. Obama were sincerely enthusiastic in their support of him. No surprise here. Surely, even before this event, no one thought that EVERY soldier supported him.

And finally, let's not be surprised that Obama is a politician too. I argued with left-wing critics who attacked Bush for staging these kinds of political events, and I'll argue against right-wingers now for the same reason.
