Perry vs. White: Wake the Hell Up Texas!

On October 16, 2010, in Politics, by TheLoudTalker

I received an email last week that needs to be sent to every Republican Texan you know, allow me to paraphrase for you.

Recently on Fox News Americas Newsroom with Bill Hemmer, Fox contributor Bob Beckle issued his number one pick for upset of the election: Bill White will defeat Governor Rick Perry.

This is the race my wife has been worrying about this most, and this is the race that I am now worried about the most. I had the honor of interviewing Governor Perry last month and I asked him why here in Texas we are seeing more White signs, banner ads and television commercials than Perry promotions. He said that his team is focusing more on social media and that I should expect more advertisements as we get closer to the race. Well… the race is about three week away now and I’m still seeing more White than Perry.

If you are thinking about not voting because you have a problem with Rick Perry on a certain issue, ask yourself if giving control of the state to a liberal Democrat is worth staying home for. NO candidate is perfect. You have to find the candidate that you agree with most on, perhaps 70% or more if possible.

Here are some things to think about.

  1. Bill White is anti-gun and supports gun control in Texas. He was one of only two Texas mayors to join New York Mayor Bloomberg’s anti-gun group. He later resigned after seeing popularity polls and claimed that he didn’t know what he was joining. Seriously? Why not try “my dog ate my application info sheet.”
  2. Bill White personally made Houston one of the largest illegal immigrant “sanctuary cities” in America. Yet he has the audacity to claim that Rick Perry hasn’t done enough on our border? Homeland Security has repeatedly refused to send the manpower and money needed to protect our southern border while Bill White does everything he can to encourage illegals to enter Texas.
  3. Bill White supports Obamacare. It is ridiculously expensive, raises rates on seniors, causes millions to lose their coverage, and new problems with the bill are discovered every week. That’s what happens when you don’t read bills before passing them. And White supports it.
  4. Bill White refuses to commit to not raise taxes on Texans. Rick Perry got Texas out of a financial hole in 2003 without raising taxes, and is trying to do the same again this year.
  5. Speaking of money, while mayor, White raided pension funds to pay for highly questionable programs that he instigated as mayor. He left Houston in a financial mess that was verified by the current mayor. And try Googling “Bill White Metrogate.” He’s involved in a scandal that nobody is hearing about. Do you want him to lead Texas?
  6. Bill White has no intention of releasing his tax returns. Apparently he is a fan of Obama’s version of transparency: seal or conceal, just don’t reveal.
  7. Bill White supports Cap and Trade, and in fact he has said that he feels the legislation does not go far enough.
  8. Bill White supports the ridiculous Obama EPA grab of Texas emission laws. Adoption of these laws will kill tens of thousands of Texas jobs.
  9. Bill White is a trial lawyer and he opposes lawsuit reforms.
  10. Bill White has repeatedly said that our military should have a say in national elections, but not state or local elections. Could this be because Texas has one of the largest military populations in the country, and the military largely votes Republican?

If you have a problem with Rick Perry, ask yourself if not voting, or worse, voting for White, justifies turning Texas over to an illegal friendly, anti-gun, pro-Obamacare, pro Cap & Trade economy destroying liberal. If you still think White deserves your vote after reading this, please stay home or change parties. Bill White is bad for Texas.

Stop whining about O’Donnell’s win.

On September 14, 2010, in Politics, by TheLoudTalker

Congratulations to Christine O’Donnell in Delaware!

FTR and Christine O'Donnell at Right Online 2010

I am NOT one of the many conservatives bitching and moaning because the “right” Republican candidate didn’t win tonight. Many pundits and bloggers think that this win by O’Donnell means a Republican loss in November. I disagree.

Conservative Americans are tired of the status quo. We are tired of career politicians. We want REAL change, and in Christine O’Donnell we get that change. No candidate is perfect and I challenge the naysayers to look into the mirror before complaining.

The founding fathers expected politicians to serve a short while then return to their previous lives and careers. They did not build a country to be run by career politicians; they wanted the opinion of the people to be heard.

Bank on this: conservative voters are engaged and energized. They will vote in November while liberals stay home knowing that they are going to take a beating. Why on Earth do some talking heads think Castle was a shoe in but O’Donnell is not? Do these same people think Castle voters are finicky and will now sulk instead of vote? They are wrong. The people want change, and this is a sign of things to come. Christine O’Donnell will win in November. You heard it here first.

Glenn Beck: In or Out – 2010

On August 28, 2009, in Politics, by TheLoudTalker

Glenn Beck was on fire this week. Here is his litmus test for politicians that run in 2010:

  1. I believe in a balanced budget and therefore will vote for a freeze in government spending until that goal is realized.
  2. I believe government should not increase the financial burden on its citizenry during difficult economic times therefore I will oppose all tax increases until our economy has rebounded.
  3. I believe more than four decades of U.S. dependence on foreign oil is a travesty therefore I will support an energy plan that calls for immediately increasing usage of all domestic resources including nuclear energy, natural gas, and coal as necessary.
  4. I believe in the sovereignty and security of our country and therefore will support measures to close our borders except for designated immigration points so we will know who is entering and why and I will vehemently oppose any measure giving another country, the United Nations, or any other entity, power over U.S. citizens.
  5. I believe the United States of America is the greatest country on earth and therefore will not apologize for policies or actions which have served to free more and feed more people around the world than any other nation on the planet.

Help Stop the ACORN Census!

On July 13, 2009, in Politics, by TheLoudTalker

Michelle Bachmann was interviewed on RFCradio’s “On The Edge” w/ThayroneX today. Her comments included some scary details about what the US Census will look like as administered by the Obama administration and ACORN. After you read this be sure to sign Michele Bachmann’s petition!

Here are some of the questions asked, according to an official explanation document of the 2010 census provided by 2010.census.gov. As you read these, try to envision how the left would act if Bush/Cheney asked for this personal information. The text following the questions is quoted directly from the document as justification for each question.

  • page 26 / question 17: Because of a physical, mental, or emotional condition, does this person have serious difficulty concentrating, remembering, or making decisions?
  • page 26 / question 18: Because of a physical, mental, or emotional condition, does this person have difficulty doing errands alone such as visiting a doctor’s office or shopping?
    • Information on disability is used by a number of federal agencies to distribute funds and develop programs for people with disabilities.
  • page 30 / question12: IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS, did anyone in this household receive Food Stamps or a Food Stamp benefit card?
  • page 35 / question 32: What time did this person usually leave home to go to work LAST WEEK?
  • page 35 / question 33: How many minutes did it usually take this person to get from home to work LAST WEEK?
    • Financial institutions use data about commuting patterns and occupation, to define market areas for describing lending practices and the effects of bank mergers.
    • Data are used to identify patterns of discrimination in hiring among minorities and other population groups within labor markets.
  • page 38 / question 9: How many automobiles, vans, and trucks of one-ton capacity or less are kept at home for use by members of this household?
    • The U.S. Department of Energy uses the information to estimate and forecast energy consumption of motor vehicles and for planning and establishing program activities as part of the Alternative Fueled Vehicles Program.
  • page 43 / question 7a: How many separate rooms are in this house, apartment, or mobile home?
    • Data about the number of occupants per room is used to measure the extent of overcrowding among our nation’s households.
  • page 43 / question 7b: How many of these rooms are bedrooms?
  • page 47 / question 10: Which FUEL is used MOST for heating this house, apartment, or mobile home?
  • page 55 / question 19b: How much is the regular monthly mortgage payment on THIS property?
  • page 55 / question 20a: Do you or any member of this household have a second mortgage or a home equity loan on THIS property?
  • page 56a: Please print the name and telephone number of the person who is filling out this form.
  • page 58 / question 15: Is this person CURRENTLY covered by any of the following types of health insurance or health coverage plans?
    • Planning and implementing many federal health programs requires accurate state and local information on health insurance status. Obtaining data on the uninsured rate among Americans is of great importance to policy makers at federal, state, and local levels.
  • page 60 / question 21: How many times has this person been married?
    • “This information is critical for more refined analyses of eligibility for program services and benefits”
    • “Marriage and divorce data will be used at the national, state, and sub-state level to plan for and assess state and community activities designed to influence marital and divorce behavior.”

Do you trust the explanations for these questions? Why does the government need this information? A census is for counting people. But the Obama administration wants to use census data to redraw districts in an effort to ensure the continued welfare mindset and support of Democratic programs for as long as possible.

ACORN has already proven to be a criminal organization, yet it still the apple in Obama’s eye. We need to prevent this purely partisan group of Obama supporters from administering the census. How? Sign Michele Bachmann’s petition!
