Google has done it again.
The king of search engines occasionally replaces its standard logo with something different to signify a holiday, historic event or birthday of someone that did something cool in the eyes of Google staff. But how these decisions are made is as mysterious to me as the famous Google algorithms.
Today (July 6) you can see a logo celebrating the birthday of Frida Kahlo. “Who?” you may ask as I did this morning. Well you unintellectual neo-con scum, today is Frida’s 103rd birthday. She died at the age of 47, after which her fame skyrocketed (as it often does for artists and musicians… death is often the best promotional tool). A NY Daily News article describes Kahlo as “one of the most prolific painters of her time.”
But why reserve space atop the most visited page on the Internet when so many more significant events, people and holidays have been ignored? There was no logo change for Memorial Day. Last year Independence Day received a picnic theme logo and this year received a display of fireworks items. The logo had nothing to do with the actual independence of our country.
So for argument sake let us assume that Google uses a random method to determine which days get special logo treatment and July 6th is the winner this week. What else could have been illustrated atop the search engine page?
July 6 Birthdays (partial list):

- 1989 – The Israeli 405 Bus slaughter in which 14 bus passengers are killed when an Arab assaulted the bus driver as the bus was driving by the edge of a cliff.
Google could have honored a queen, a czar, a president, a first lady, actor or musician. It could have celebrated the almighty dollar, a health triumph, a moment in black history, WW II or radical extremism. In the grand scheme of life it doesn’t really matter what Google decides to do with its own web site. But for some reason its choices tend to rub me the wrong way. But it would be nice to occasionally se a nod of the hat, or logo, to acknowledge the greatness of American capitalism and free market economics that has allowed Google to become as wildly successful as it is. If I were working at Google I would suggest that the logo rotate do depict multiple events and educate the world on a variety of subjects that cover multiple points of view. After all, isn’t that the liberal way? Oh that’s right.. do as I say, not as I do.
Ho-hum, just another day of non-existent media bias at the New York Times. Riddle me this: If the McCain team broke a campaign finance law prior to the November election, do you think that the Times, the Post, the Gazette, the Daily Bugle, The Enquirer, TV Guide, Reader’s Digest and Tiger Beat would have reported on it? Of course they would have. But, given the fact that the New York Times, like virtually every newspaper and television stations, was busy swallowing Obama’s load (of kool-ade), it was unable to perform the primary function of reporting real news (instead of the made up kind we’ve come to expect from the NYT).
Read this and wonder aloud how the hell we can expect any semblance of reality to resume in America with such fradulent, wonton abuse of the public trust going on.
CNN blow hard Jack Cafferty has crossed a line, in my humble yet loud opinion. Read this short little essay, or just enjoy a few Liberal nuggets from his diatribe:
- Nobody is interested anymore, Mr. Vice President. You and your gaggle of miscreants had your shot, and we are in the toilet because of it. Don’t you get it?”
- “{bush] more than doubled the national debt in eight years and gave $700 billion to its buddies on Wall Street, no questions asked. You’re a little short on credibility when it comes to the economy, don’t you think?”
- “[The Bush Administration] authorized the United States of America to behave like some Third World gang of hoodlums like the Taliban or al Qaeda.”
- [on Dick Cheney] “Now our reputation is shot, we are bankrupt, we continue to fight two wars that you started and the economy is in the worst recession since the Great Depression. And you have the temerity to go around criticizing those who replaced you? How dare you?”
HOW DARE YOU Mr. Cafferty? How dare you! Maybe you haven’t noticed due to your apparent love for the quality news sources and research espoused by Keith Olberdork, but Americans do not behead, break bones, cut skin, remove body parts, stone to death or shoot people in the back. How dare YOU, Mr. Cafferty, compare our troops to Al Qaeda/Taliban. Have you been spending some quality time with Jack Murtha ripping our soldiers and getting your egregious lies in sync? You have seriously crossed a line by comparing our troops to our enemies.
You have done nothing more in this article but propagate the Left mantra: I know I am just one of those crazy conservative potential terrorists, but let me set you straight, if that is even possible.
- Bush did not create this economic situation. It started long ago thanks to Carter and bad loans. Clinton made it worse. Bush tried to blow the whistle but was blocked by Frank, Dodd, et al. Don’t YOU get it Jack? Apparently not.
- Yes, Bush doubled the debt. But if you look at the numbers our economy was growing and debt was decreasing, until the bailouts that most Americans opposed were made. Even then, President Obama has since quadrupled our debt and the long term ramifications are even worse. $700M is a bargain these days in an Obama Nation.
- How dare YOU, Mr. Cafferty, compare our troops that have kept your misinformed and wildly partisan ass safe for the past eight years to Al Qaeda!
This article from Mr. Jack Cafferty has motivated me to create a new award. Olbermann has his “Worst Person in the World,” “O’Reilly has “Patriots and Pin Heads.” I’m jumping into the fray and am proud to announce the Loud Talker’s Jack-Ass Of The Week. Congratulations Jack, you’ve earned your namesake.
I’ve heard good things about pajamastv.com but never checked it out. My wife sent me this story and now I’m a big fan. I was going to do an article on this very topic but there’s no need to duplicate this outstanding effort. Feel free to comment, but please try to bring substance if you disagree. Don’t propogae the liberal knee-jerk no-brain stereotype.
Thanks to Ed Morrissey for gathering this data. I’m just spreading the faith.

Charlie Gibson’s interview brazenly typified the media bias that Conservatives have been clamoring about for years. Instead of coming off as a professional journalist, Gibson looked like a parent interrogating a teenager after coming home late from a party. He couldn’t even muster a sincere smile. Even Bill O’Reilly was able to joke around with Barack Obama, a presidential candidate that is the political opposite of O’Reilly . Gibson simply lacks the personality and/or tact to be polite to someone with whom he disagrees. Personally, I think he hates Palin with a bitter passion for singlehandedly stealing Obama’s unjustifed thunder and momentum.
“Dude! The media is so in the tank for McCain! Man, they treat him like a prince!” WRONG. Here is the list of questions that Gibson lobbed to Obama:
- How does it feel to break a glass ceiling?
- How does it feel to “win”?
- How does your family feel about your “winning” breaking a glass ceiling?
- Who will be your VP?
- Should you choose Hillary Clinton as VP?
- Will you accept public finance?
- What issues is your campaign about?
- Will you visit Iraq?
- Will you debate McCain at a town hall?
- What did you think of your competitor’s [Clinton] speech?
Here’s the list he tossed at Palin:
- Do you have enough qualifications for the job you’re seeking? Specifically have you visited foreign countries and met foreign leaders?
- Aren’t you conceited to be seeking this high level job?
- Questions about foreign policy
-territorial integrity of Georgia
-allowing Georgia and Ukraine to be members of NATO
-NATO treaty
-Iranian nuclear threat
-what to do if Israel attacks Iran
-Al Qaeda motivations
-the ‘Bush Doctrine”
-attacking terrorists harbored by Pakistan
-Is America fighting a holy war?
The nice thing about the last item in the list above is that ABC’s editors got creative with their digital scissors and misquoted Palin for all of the ABC audience to see. They specifically and intentionally edited Palin’s answer to make her look like a religious zealout. Shameful. Despicable. Disgusting. There are not enough words for me to properly express my disdain for ABC. ‘Criminal’ is probably appropriate.
Please read Morrissey’s excellent summary for more information, including his hugfest with Johnny Bang-another-woman-while-your-wife-suffers-from-cancer Edwards for another textbook example of media bias.
Mr. Gibson. You are a blatantly biased shameful Democratic ass.
