It seems that so many liberals have a serious memory disorder. Lately we have been hearing criticism of conservative angst and the frustration on display at town halls all across America. Liberals are simply shocked at such rude, horrific, hateful behavior. Nancy Pelosi dropped a Nazi reference while in Arkansas, and I would be dollars to doughnuts that anything resembling a swastika was planted by an SEIU or Acorn racist piece of crap thug. After all, it’s straight out of the Alinsky handbook. “No way,” our moderate and liberal friends, say. That’s just tinfoil hat talk. Sorry, but that’s the truth. Saul Alinsky was asked by college students at Tulane how to protest George HW Bush in 1972. He told them that instead of shouting Bush down, they should:

“go to hear the speech dressed as members of the Ku Klux Klan, and whenever Bush said something in defense of the Vietnam War, they should cheer and wave placards reading, ‘The KKK supports Bush.’  And that is what they did, with very successful, attention-getting results.”

I am quite confident that this tactic is in play today.

So, as a reminder to the supposed high-road liberals out there, dissent is still patriotic, even when the opinions shouted are opposite of your own views. Here are some examples of the class liberals showed during the last eight years.

I’m really getting tired of hypocritical liberals telling me that my expression of free speech is offensive. I find political correctness offensive. I find Nancy Pelosi’s lies offensive. I find Joe Biden’s gaffes offensive. I find Barack Obama’s flip flopping and misleading offensive. I am waiting for the return of the days when free speech was supported by all Americans, especially liberals.

Glenn Beck is under attack. He says things that the left can’t stand, mainly because Beck speaks the truth, welcomes debate and asks for others to prove him wrong. They can’t stand his delivery, his crying and who knows what else.

I find it incredibly ironic that once upon a time liberals fought tooth and nail to support free speech. Lenny Bruce was the king of the hill on that topic back in the 60s. George Carlin too. The Supreme Court sided with Larry Flynt and protected Hustler Magazine. The left considers a crucifix submerged in urine art, but considers a crucifix in a public building offensive. I just don’t get it.

The companies listed below have dropped their sponsorships with Glenn Beck on Fox News. Why? Because liberals, those that are associated with free speech, don’t like what Glenn Beck has to say. Do they try to debate him or contest his facts? Of course not: that requires mental acuity and actual effort. Picking up the phone and screaming like an idiot at sponsors is much more their style. Sounds like community organizing to me.

I urge everyone reading this to contact these companies and voice your concern over this attack on free speech and the sponsor’s willingness to submit to thug tactics. Some day the pendulum will swing in the other direction, but for now we have to make an effort to protect what our Founding Fathers created.

When Will You Learn?

Calling all moderate Americans. WAKE UP! I can’t save or even influence the far lefties that have no clue about reality, but I can try to those of you in the middle ground.

Look back over the “failed eight years” that the left and Obama loved to whine about. Make a list of the accusations pointed at Bush and Cheney. What was he accused of? EVEN IF, for the sake of argument, you take the truther side and agree with their crazy assertions, what Obama is doing is exponentially worse, more restrictive, more invasive and more dangerous than ANYTHING that the Bush administration was accused of.

The Obama Administration has now expressed the need to restrict free speech, not only of lobbyists and insiders, but of “anyone else exerting influence on the process. We concluded this was necessary under the unique circumstances of the stimulus program.” Who wrote that quote? Norman Eisen, who works for Barack Obama as Special Counsel to the President on Ethics and Government Reform. Ed Morrissey had this to say:

Remember when the Left took to the streets to declare dissent “patriotic” during wartime?  I didn’t have a problem with dissent then, but apparently the Left has a curious definition of “patriotism”.  Now, suddenly, the federal government can silence their critics at will, not to protect critical national-security programs or keep from undermining a war effort, but to protect a Democratic president intent on seizing control of private industry across a wide swath of the nation.  Suddenly, that kind of dissent threatens America.

Seriously speaking, when will the media and moderates that voted for Obama wake up and realize that this man is truly dangerous for America? Once upon a time liberals stood up for free speech. Remember the 1960s? What the hell has happened to the Left?Let me leave you chewing on this:

“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of “liberalism,” they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”

Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

The very first paragraph in the “About” section at the DailyKOS says that the site was created “in those dark days when an oppressive and war-crazed administration suppressed all dissent as unpatriotic and treasonous. As a veteran, Moulitsas [site founder] was offended that the freedoms he pledged his life for were so carelessly being tossed aside by the reckless and destructive Republican administration.”

Let me point out two key objections of the founder:

  • the “administration suppressed all dissent”
  • He was “offended that the freedoms he pledged his life for were so carelessly being tossed aside…”

This would lead one to believe that the Daily KOS was a site motivated to seek the truth, promote discussion, welcome debate and strive to be everything that an ‘oppressive administration’ was not.

Survey says: WRONG

As a grown-up that enjoys sharing my opinion and engaging in debate with dissimilar opinions I thought it would be enlightening to create an account at the Daily KOS. I posted for a couple of weeks and tried to remain polite yet direct with my comments. Usually I was called crazy or clueless. Sometimes a member would counter with their own facts in a rational manner. The Internet at it’s finest.

Then I was ‘outed’ by ZappoDave. <insert dramatic music stab>

Apparently my comments supporting our troops pissed some of the loonies off. I suggested that the war could have been over years ago if soldiers were allowed to engage the enemy as they were trained as opposed to being handcuffed by the ridiculous rules of engagement that they are forced to follow today. I received three comments: an f-word laced emotional outburst plus two other less vicious yet still curse-including responses. I countered with “Curses and insults are the best you can come up with? My post and facts still stand.”

I came back a couple of days later to find that my commenting privileges had been revoked. Oh yeah… the three asinine comments and my pimp slap of the three were removed from the site. I drew out a few of the losers and they got erased along with me. Just like a good homicide bomber…

I also saw that there were several comments re: my outing. What do I mean by outing? ZappoDave had a stroke of investigative genius and checked out my member profile. He posted his ’scoop’ in the comments section. He found my blog. <insert another musically tense stab> Note to Zappo… if I didn’t want people to know that I had my own conservative blog I wouldn’t have put the link in my KOS profile you bonehead! Yet users chimed in with “nice catch” and “this guy is a fucking troll.”

If voicing an opinion other than the liberal party line makes me a troll, color me guilty. I guess when you have nothing but your heart to argue with you can’t let things like facts our counterpoint get in the way of a good temper tantrum against the Neo-cons, right?

The site also is proud of the fact that “tens of thousands of regular Americans have used Daily Kos to lend their voice to a political world once the domain of the rich, connected, and powerful.” Um… the political world is still the domain of the rich, connected and powerful. I can only surmise that opinions like mine exclude me from the category of ‘regular Americans’ as defined by the left.

In other words, my dissent needed to be suppressed. My freedom was carelessly tossed aside.

What good is a message board if it contains nothing but redundant “atta boys” and “down with the man” posts? Where’s the intellectual stimulation? What possible value is gained by marching lock-step with a crowd of lemmings? If you truly believe what you say, if you have a rational defense for your opinions, wouldn’t you enjoy the opportunity to try and educate a non-believer? Wouldn’t you try to expose your political opposite as a fraud? I guess that’s not an option at the Daily KOS. You either tow the lefty line or you get muzzled.

We’ll see if my account regains its former privileges. (update 10/5/07: no privileges still… to disagree is to be shunned) When it does I’ll be glad to remove my Markos ‘Kos’ Moulitsas/Hitler ‘art.’ I would like to continue posting at the Daily KOS in the hope that I can foster discussion and maybe expose just some of the illogical musings of the uneducated. I’m not on a friggin’ Crusade, I’m just trying to insert a dose of perspective.
