Crayola Akbar!

On December 28, 2009, in Terrorism, by Paulie

Well, well, well. It looks like oh so compassionate liberal political pressure to release the horribly treated, poor wittle Muslim terrorists that were in Gitmo has once again come back to haunt us. According to Ace of Spades (hat tip to Allahpundit at Hotair.com) “two of the four leaders allegedly behind the al Qaeda plot to blow up a Northwest Airlines passenger jet over Detroit were released by the U.S. from the Guantanamo prison in November, 2007.”

Well isn’t that special…

Remember the cries from the left? Remember the complaints that these people were falsely imprisoned? Well, f*** you lefty, you were wrong then, and only by the grace of God can you not have blood on your hands for pressuring the Bush administration for releasing bastards like these guys.

Allahpundit puts this story into a sad but realistic perspective:

“Allahu Akbar” to “Crayola Akbar.” On the bright side, at least The One has learned from Bush’s terrible folly here, right? Wrong. Bob Gates has been pushing since May to transfer 97 Yemeni detainees to the Saudi rehab program; as of 10 days ago the plan was to send six Yemenis back to Yemen itself with possibly scores more to follow. Any reason to worry about that? Yep: Yemen is notorious for jihadi jailbreaks, from mass escapes like the one in 2006 where 23 AQ operatives went loose to the U.S.S. Cole bomber who broke out of prison twice until finally — I kid you not — Yemen simply let him go after he gave them his solemn word that he’d cool it with the jihadism.

Anyone else having trouble sleeping at night? I’m sure well thought out Homeland Security policies such as not allowing passengers to anything on their lap during the last hour of a flight, or not providing blankets will keep us save. I have complete confidence on Janet Napolitano. ::snort:: I wonder how long until the ACLU or Al Sharpton get involved in this story. After all, the failed terrorist is black. Never mind that he’s the son of an incredibly wealthy bank executive and lived in a $3million home while in England. You see, Barack Obama has been wrongfully trying to tie his Alinskyan “haves versus have-nots” concept to the poor struggling terrorists. Michelle Malkin wrote:

Barack Obama clings, like so many willfully blind, to the myth of the poor, oppressed jihadist in the face of years and years of contrary evidence. The “essence” of the 9/11 “tragedy,” he wrote days after that attack, “grows out of a climate of poverty and ignorance, helplessness and despair.”

I hope more Americans wake up in 2010 so that we can vote out a large number of the out-of-touch insensitive politicians that continue to ignore the people that elect them and pay their salaries.

He must hate our military. I can think of no other reason to justify the recent release of dangerous terrorists from Gitmo. At some point this wilful neglect of our nation’s security has to become a criminal act. Isn’t protecting America the primary goal of the president?

“I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”

In a late Friday news dump we learned that America has released a Ahmed Zuhair, a dangerous terrorist, from Gitmo. Where was he sent? The America-loving nation of Saudi Arabia, where his case will “be reviewed” and he will be sent to a rehabilitation camp. I wonder if rehab includes training on the latest bomb-making techniques. What has Zuhair done?

Zuhair wasn’t just a random Afghani or Saudi picked up by accident. By his own admission, he participated in the bombing of the USS Cole, and the Bosnians want him for a terrorist attack there, apart from his involvement in the murder of William Jefferson. Why not give him to the Bosnians instead, even if we were inclined to release him at all? (source)

In Obama’s distorted reality: the killing of an American + Bosnian car bombing + participating in the USS Cole bombing = transfer to a friendly country where he will most likely be set free. Tell me Obama supporters, how does this help America? If a single person is killed by Zuhair I expect Obama’s impeachment trials to begin immediately. Ed Morrissey sums it up nicely:

The Obama administration has all but surrendered to al-Qaeda with these releases. If the murderer of an American UN worker and a participant in the USS Cole bombing can get set free, then who would Obama keep in custody? The administration is rapidly making membership in al-Qaeda and participation in terrorism against the US a no-risk proposition.

Hooray! Barack Obama won the election! We can finally wash our pink t-shirts and celebrate the coming world peace! We can start dismantling all of the damage caused by the evil Bush Machine. Close Gitmo! Peace, love and granola!

Reality check.

Dems are happy to reverse anything Bush-related, but paying for it is a different story. Amid complaints that terror suspects could be brought to the U.S., House Democrats on Monday rebuffed the Obama administration’s request for $50 million to relocate prisoners from the detention facility at Guantanamo, Cuba.” Where the hell did you think they would end up in the first place? Perhaps you should have thought this through before rushing to reverse a useful policy while still drunk from innauguration champagne?
