Masterfully Stated: Apology Please.

On May 3, 2011, in Politics, by TheLoudTalker

Sometimes you find something that expresses exactly how you feel. Treat this like a fine wine, savor it, enjoy every flavorful swirl.

The left, the American left, the Democrat Party of this country, the liberals, owe us and the United States an apology. They owe us an apology for taking every opportunity to undermine our efforts to track down Bin Laden and other terrorists. They have been the primary obstacles to getting Bin Laden. Since 2003, 2005, whenever. Whatever period of time after the 9/11 attacks or the invasion of Iraq that you want to go back to, the primary obstacle to achieving Sunday’s result has been the Democrat Party.

A Tale of Two Mindsets

On October 3, 2010, in Politics, by TheLoudTalker

The liberal left has a long history of vocalizing its desire to protect mother Earth. Long ago they frowned upon paper bags because paper bags are made of trees. This led to the widespread adoption of plastic bags. Now they frown upon plastic bags because they are hard to get rid of and are made from evil, planet destroying oil. The current bag du jour is the recycled plastic bag, presumably made up of lots of evil but used plastic bags. They cherry on top of this irony sundae is the fact that these trendy bags are not free, they are sold to consumers in a brutal display of the left’s most hated practice: capitalism.

The left also claims to be the compassionate side of the political spectrum. After all, it is the right that mongers war, no? At times the left claims to support our troops but not their mission. They claim to be the true voice of the people and scream “astroturf!” at the first sign of an organized conservative rally. After all,  look at all of those mass produced identical signs at Tea Parties across America.

Last Saturday various left-leaning personalities and organizations held a rally called “One Nation.” It was thrown together out of spite after the success of Glenn Beck’s Restoring Honor Rally in August. Beck’s event attracted roughly half a million people and was designed to deliver a message of true faith and hope for our future. It was attended by tea party groups from all over the America that paid for their trips out of their own pockets. (The “One Nation” rally was organized “to provide an antidote to the Tea Party” as if the Tea Party is a sickness) and was sponsored and attended by three hundred different liberal groups, including unions that gathered 2000 buses to ship their mental lemmings on. In other words, the right is trying to make America better, the left is simply mocking the right. Generally speaking, in this political family the right is the grownup and the left is the teenager.

Take a look at how the environment loving compassionate left treated the World War II memorial on Saturday.

This disgusts me, but it also proves my point. Has a conservative gathering ever desecrated a monument before? Of course not, because in general conservatives actually care. We understand the concept of personal responsibility and accountability for one’s actions. We don’t expect others to do the work for us, nor do we feel we are owed anything. Mature adults do not trash a war memorial, immature lemmings do. Is this Hope or Change? Is this what Ed Schultz and Al Sharpton consider the best America has to offer?

Here are a few blog comments that I think sum up the event and my thoughts:

  • They can throw their trash wherever they want because they purchased their carbon credits. C‘mon haven’t you been keeping up with your eco-terrorist propaganda?
  • This (to borrow a term from good ol’ nancy) was one of the most “astro turf” organized things I’ve ever seen in my life. It was a complete joke.. from the hip-hop/rap music to almost fitting trashy mess they left behind. I do know there were probably a handful of people that *thought* they were there for a good reason.. but I hope they take a real good look at the aftermath and see how they are being used like pawns in a large scale assault on our civil freedoms.
  • They are the gimme, gimme, gimme, take care of me crowd. They don’t take care of others, themselves, or even pick up after themselves. They are nothing but adult aged spoiled children that expect somebody to take care of them and clean up their mess. They disgust me.
  • well its different when you make your signs with care then when your handed one as you get off the bus and your already pissed you “had” to go. This is exactly the differance- when you earn it, pay for it and LOVE it- as opposed to being given something you didn’t earn and never appriciated in the first place.

Another random Google logo

On July 6, 2010, in Politics, by TheLoudTalker

Google has done it again.

The king of search engines occasionally replaces its standard logo with something different to signify a holiday, historic event or birthday of someone that did something cool in the eyes of Google staff. But how these decisions are made is as mysterious to me as the famous Google algorithms.

Today (July 6) you can see a logo celebrating the birthday of Frida Kahlo. “Who?” you may ask as I did this morning. Well you unintellectual neo-con scum, today is Frida’s 103rd birthday. She died at the age of 47, after which her fame skyrocketed (as it often does for artists and musicians… death is often the best promotional tool). A NY Daily News article describes Kahlo as “one of the most prolific painters of her time.”

But why reserve space atop the most visited page on the Internet when so many more significant events, people and holidays have been ignored? There was no logo change for Memorial Day. Last year Independence Day received a picnic theme logo and this year received a display of fireworks items. The logo had nothing to do with the actual independence of our country.

So for argument sake let us assume that Google uses a random method to determine which days get special logo treatment and July 6th is the winner this week. What else could have been illustrated atop the search engine page?

July 6 Birthdays (partial list):

  • 1789 – Maria Isabella of Spain, Queen consort of the Two Sicilies, wife of Francis I of the Two Sicilies (d. 1846)
  • 1796 – Tsar Nicholas I of Russia (d. 1855)
  • 1818 – Adolf Anderssen, German chess player (d. 1879)
  • 1878 – Eino Leino, Finnish poet (d. 1926)
  • 1921 – Nancy Reagan, First Lady of the United States
  • 1927 – Janet Leigh, American actress (d. 2004)
  • 1907 – George Stanley, Canadian politician and designer of the flag of Canada (d. 2002)
  • 1931 – Della Reese, American singer and actress
  • 1946 – George W. Bush, 43rd President of the United States
  • 1946 – Sylvester Stallone, American actor
  • 1975 – 50 Cent, American rapper

July 6 Historic Events (partial list):

  • 1535 – Sir Thomas More is executed for treason against King Henry VIII of England.
  • 1785 – The dollar is unanimously chosen as the monetary unit for the United States.
  • 1885 – Louis Pasteur successfully tests his vaccine against rabies.
  • 1942 – Anne Frank and her family go into hiding in the “Secret Annexe” above her father’s office in an Amsterdam warehouse.
  • 1944 – The Hartford Circus Fire, one of America’s worst fire disasters, kills approximately 168 people and injures over 700 in Hartford, Connecticut.
  • 1957 – Althea Gibson wins the Wimbledon championships, becoming the first black athlete to do so.
  • 1989 – The Israeli 405 Bus slaughter in which 14 bus passengers are killed when an Arab assaulted the bus driver as the bus was driving by the edge of a cliff.

Google could have honored a queen, a czar, a president, a first lady, actor or musician. It could have celebrated the almighty dollar, a health triumph, a moment in black history, WW II or radical extremism. In the grand scheme of life it doesn’t really matter what Google decides to do with its own web site. But for some reason its choices tend to rub me the wrong way. But it would be nice to occasionally se a nod of the hat, or logo, to acknowledge the greatness of American capitalism and free market economics that has allowed Google to become as wildly successful as it is. If I were working at Google I would suggest that the logo rotate do depict multiple events and educate the world on a variety of subjects that cover multiple points of view. After all, isn’t that the liberal way? Oh that’s right.. do as I say, not as I do.

New Apple Product: Socialism

On March 16, 2010, in Politics, by TheLoudTalker

Take a look at the image below and tell me what you see.

This is an unedited picture. You can see the original thumbnail for the time being at Newsweek. Why would they print this? I’ve got a few ideas:

  • The magazine is so liberal they think mainstreaming Marx is a great idea.
  • Subscribers have declined so much that Newsweek has to resort to sensationalism to get people to buy the magazine.
  • It’s not really Karl Marx, its Orson Welles. We all know how much the Obamas love a good movie. Just ask Gordon Brown.

My initial thought was that the first lady was certainly unaware of the imagery. But the thought of the first lady appering on a national magazine cover without approval made no sense. This must have been approved by her or someone that she completely trusts. There’s no way she doesn’t know about this.

So, my guess is that they are doing this on purpose to get the right all wee-wee’d up, just to make fun of us later. Just like Glenn Beck did when he “misspelled” oligarchy. (try searching “Genn Beck and Oligarch” and see how many liberals went crazy over his setup). Hook. LIne. Sinker. Is the Marx Apple the same thing from the left?
