Hands Off My Kids Barack!

On February 2, 2010, in Politics, by TheLoudTalker

We have heard for a long time how church and state need to be separated. We have heard that religion has no place in public schools that are funded by tax payer dollars. I can deal with that. Maybe. But when I see that our government is actively recruiting American high school students to participate in a partisan, Democratic, liberal community organizing program I experience the urge to break something.

It’s bad enough as a parent that I have to constantly shield my young children from the continuously sinking “standards” of television and print media. A simple walk through the mall subjects my daughter to the sexual imagery of gigantic Victoria’s Secret posters and anorexic fashion models at virtually every department store entrance. Gaming stores are full of violence, blood and guts. Television is riddled with graphically violent and overly sexual images and content. For crying out loud, last week I had to mute American Idol to keep my kids from having to deal with an over-the-top flamboyantly gay and flirtatious man hitting on Simon. Where does it stop? Answer? It doesn’t.

Fortunately my family chooses to home school. If my kids were in a public school and they received this document, I would be in the principals face faster than the ACLU at a hate crime. (well, a white on black hate crime at least.) Check out some of the nuggets found on page 1 of the curriculum:

Internship Overview (page 1): “Organizing for America, the successor organization for Obama for America, is building on the movement that elected President Obama by empowering students across the country to help us bring about our agenda of change.”

Really? What exactly is the “movement that elected” Obama? Would it include ACORN’s illegal behavior, thug tactics, persuasion, pressure and violence? Would it include methods such as infiltrating “enemy” organizations and then spreading false information or imagery to make that organization look bad? Would it include shady, if not illegal, credit card donation practices? Is this what you want to teach the youth of America? Here’s another line from the same overview page:

“OFA is… working to make the change we fought so hard for in 2008 a reality in 2010 and beyond.”

Again, this is a partisan initiative. This administration wants to recruit teenagers to serve as political soldiers and do the bidding of Team Obama to repeat the election successes of 2008. Obama wants our kids to help elect Democrats during the mid-terms and then keep working to re-elect him in 2012.

Now take a peek on page four. The administration is openly promoting and encouraging that students read Saul Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals.” Seriously?! The very first page of chapter one in this book introduces the concept of the “haves” and “have nots.” Class warfare. Victims and the evil rich. The book is a toolkit for people to disrupt and forcibly get their way. And by the way, Alinsky dedicates the book to Lucifer. More specifically:

“Lest we forget at least an over-the-shoulder acknowledgment to the very first radical: from all our legends, mythology, and history (and who is to know where mythology leaves off and history begins — or which is which), the first radical known to man who rebelled against the establishment and did it so effectively that he at least won his own kingdom — Lucifer

What about separation of church and state now, hippy?

Pages six and nine reveal another focus of the National Intern Organizer program: Healthcare. Obama wants to use these kids to help spread the “context of the healthcare campaign,” and to discuss how to work with the media, specifically around healthcare. Yes, the very same healthcare that 61% of Americans want Congress to drop.

And, if that’s not enough, here’s the cherry on top of this crap sundae. The web site  listed on page ten as “a great example of good use of new media”  is a gay marriage site. Great material for our kids to be reviewing. But that’s ok with you, right?

So, I encourage each and every one of you that has kids in public high schools to contact your school board, principal or anyone at a leadership level and find out if this brochure will be distributed during the school year. THEN, ask them if a similar application for a conservative program will also be distributed.

Remember: All politics are local. Get involved. Be aware.

Capitalism FTW!

On January 12, 2010, in Politics, by TheLoudTalker

Here is a nice 2-minute defense of capitalism by Milton Friedman. Who is Milton Friedman, you ask? His awards are many, and he “wrote extensively on public policy, always with a primary emphasis on the preservation and extension of individual freedom.” (source/bio)

This interview was recorded in 1979 as the beta version of Barack Obama was in office (that would be Jimmy Carter for my younger readers).

You can find the first of five portions of the interview here. Another note for the younger crowd, Phil Donahue as a turbo-lib, but he also can be considered the founding father of modern television talk shows. He was the king back then and set the groundwork for daytime talk stars like Oprah and company.

Video Rewind: I tried, people… I tried.

On September 1, 2009, in Video, by TheLoudTalker

I’ve been frustrated with the shortsightedness of our populace. Barack Obama told us what he was going to do, yet the left, in its drunken puppy-love stupor, voted him in anyway, and now America is at a critical juncture. Here are a few videos that, while a year or so old, are still very educational. I created these myself in an attempt to wake America up. I will try harder next time.

People of America: What the hell are you thinking?

On October 8, 2008, in Politics, by TheLoudTalker

The debate last night was fairly boring, but from a pure debate perspective McCain won. My scorecard had McCain winning about five or six of the questions, the other 15 or so were a tie. However, he didn’t deliver a knockout blow which is what he needed. However, at this point I don’t know if there IS a knockout blow that anyone can deliver. We could discover video of Obama snorting coke off of a hooker’s ass while torturing kittens and his poll numbers would probably rise. Too much of America is drinking the cool-aid, and I think this particular drink is far worse than what Jim Jones served up decades ago. When in our history has a presidential candidate been associated with so many questionable people? When in our history has a presidential candidate been so far to the left of the political spectrum? So I ask Democrats and Liberals: WHY are you voting for Obama?

  • “I hate George Bush.” Well, Bush isn’t running. And before you say he’s the same as Bush let me tell you that you are dead wrong. Libs are fond of pointing out that McCain has voted with his party 90% of the time. Obama has done the same 97% of the time. Flip that over and you see a major difference. McCain has voted against his party 10% of the time, Obama 3%. This means that McCain has voted against his party more than three times as often as Obama. So how is Obama a change candidate?
  • “I want us out of the war.” Well, so does McCain. However, McCain wants us to leave with honor and victory. House Majority Leader Harry Reid has already declared the war as lost, which means somebody else has won. Who won? Iraq? Al Qaeda? America still has a military presence in Japan and Germany, but we aren’t at war with them. McCain does not want us at war for 100 years.
  • “Obama is so charming and different.” True, he’s charming and has a great smile. But he’s not different. He is a classic Chicago politician and has the relationships to prove it (see Rezko and Ayers). In an effort to add experience and foreign relations experience to his campaign he selected a 35-year Washington insider as his running mate. His pick has made several embarassing gaffes and statements since being selected, yet the press has given him a complete pass. If McCain said the things Biden said the Left would say he was senile. If Palin said them, the Left would say she is clueless. But Biden gets a pass.

So let’s assume that Obama gets elected. And lets remove the war from the discussion. Make believe that Obama brings all of our troops home and appeases all of the Cindy Sheehan psychos out there. What we are left with is the most liberal senator leading our country. It would be as painful as having Jerry Fallwell as the president. Obama is not a moderate, he is nothing close to the center of the spectrum. And, he will appoint people of a similar mindset to the most powerful positions in America including the Supreme Court. This is wrong.

So America, what the hell are you thinking? Respect the power of the vote and please do some research. If you want to read what the press isn’t saying about Obama, please check out the Investors Business Daily series on Barack Obama.

The Financial Crisis Explained

On September 23, 2008, in Economy, by TheLoudTalker

Update: Fox News aired a segment today that pretty much sums up what I wrote below yesterday. Check it out here: [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/v/AHj8-HSi5AA]

For my friends that don’t have the time, energy or interest to figure out what the hell is going on with the market these days. This is based on some very powerful audio from Mark Levin.

  1. In 1977, under Jimmy Carter, the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) was passed, It requires banks to offer credit to their entire market area. It prohibited them from NOT giving loans to people in poorer areas of their community. The purpose of the act was to provide credit to under-served populations and commercial loans to small businesses. In other words, they were forced to offer credit to people that probably couldn’t pay the bank back. It was significantly and aggressively opposed by the banking community. But they had no choice, it became law.
  2. In 1995 the Clinton administration strengthened these laws and substantially increased the number of loans given to low and moderate income borrowers. This led to the creation of companies like Countrywide, lending institutions that did not mitigate loan risk by collecting savings deposits.
  3. The secondary mortgage market was born. Zero downpayment loans, no interest loans, balloon mortgages, etc. Banks had to get creative to grant loans. Failure to do so would result in close government scrutiny during bank mergers and acquisitions. The federal government motivated this banking behavior of providing loans to risky customers. And, the loans were not capitalized.
  4. In 2003 the Bush administration recommended a serious regulatory overhaul. The change was to move governmental supervision of two of the primary agents guaranteeing sub-prime loans (Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac) under a new agency created within the Department of Justice. It would give it more oversight and auditing power, and would require these two companies (FM & FM) to better capitalize their debt. Even so, what remained was the implied guarantee that the tax payer would back up these loans. This legislation was blocked by Democrats under the guise of trying to promote home ownership to people that couldn’t afford homes. Instead of acknowledging a major financial crisis, the Democrats were more concerned with getting poor people into homes.
  5. Similar legislation was proposed in 2005 but was again blocked by the Democrats. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said “we cannot pass legislation that could limit Americans from owning homes and potentially harm our economy in the process.” What the hell does Reid know about harming our economy? Just last week when asked about the current financial meltdown he said “we don’t know what to do.” That’s what I call leadership.
  6. In 2006 Charles Schumer and New York Mayor Bloomberg called for less regulation, stating that business auditing expenses haad grown far beyond Congress’ expectations. They were arguing for the reduction of regulations passed after the Enron scandal.
  7. In 2007 Schumer and Chris Dodd called on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac regulators to LIFT the portfolio cap so that they could give even more loans to more people They argued that allowing the two firms to buy more mortgages (mainly sub-prime notes), at least temporarily, would inject much needed liquidity into the market and calm the financial markets.

OK, that’s a lot of info. The point is that over a thirty year period our government created the financial mess our country is in. When the problem became noticed by Republicans all attempts to correct it were derailed by Democrats that were more concerned about individual benefits than the overall health of America. How’s that working out for you now, Democrats?

To add insult to injury, politicians that created this situation years ago by practically forcing banks to provide loans to non-creditworthy people and businesses, the same people that praised the banks for doing this years ago, are now publicly scolding the very same banks and claiming that their shady lending practices are the root of this financial evil! The hypocrisy is mind-numbing.

Now we are screwed and the government doesn’t know what to do. Henry Paulson, a democratic friend of Chuck Schumer, is trying to rush a $700 BILLION bailout plan, yet we have no idea what the plan entails, nor do we know if it will even work. Yet, they don’t give a crap, it’s not their money anyway, right? IT’S OUR MONEY! If you do the math, the cost of this plan is about $3,000 for every man, woman and child in America.

The road to hell is paved with good intentions. The bottom line: Socialism sucks. And voting for Obama won’t make things any better. In fact, Obama is closely tied to the people involved with failure of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
