After “Today In History” I give my take on the Undy-Bomber and the failings of the government organizations that failed once again to protect us. I then cover a few quick hits and offer my Top Six Obama Screw Ups of 2009, with a major hat tip to Ed Morrissey at HotAir.com.
“It was very wrong, very wrong. Very sad. His behavior was not at all Islam. He hurt all Muslims.” — Syed Ahmed Ali, an Imam at the mosque where killer Nidal Malik Hasan regularly prayed. (source)
“I don’t know his intentions. I don’t know what he was thinking. I won’t condemn another Muslim.” — Duane Reasoner, 18, someone that viewed Hasan as a religous mentor.
We need MORE muslims like the imam that actually publicly stated that Hasan’s actions were wrong. Conversley, we need to closely watch all muslims like this idiot that cannot find it in his heart to condemn a man that just killed 13 people and injured 20 more.
I’ve wondered how such a new plane could be damaged by storms and/or lightning so dramatically. The last message sent from the plane was a “loss of cabin pressure” and “electrical failure” message. Both are consistent with an explosion. Drudge is now reporting that there were bomb threats
I’ve been concerned for several years that our porous southern border makes Texas an ideal hot spot for terrorist cells or attacks. This is just speculation, but why the heck would a former military pilot claim a missile was close to his passenger plane? Makes you say “hmm…“
Obama is willing to talk to certain elements of the Taliban. After reading this depressing dip into reality I wonder if any of them should still be allowed to remain alive. I tend to think not.
EXCERPT: After confirming the closures, he reads aloud from the Taliban night letters, as simply formulated as they are explicit. “As of today,” he reads from a message from Aqtash, “girls are no longer allowed to attend school.” The letter is marked with a logo of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan — in English, yet another indication of just how well organized the Taliban are in the German area of operation.
Another threat letter depicts a schoolgirl at the gallows. “We have warned you,” reads the message. “If we now kill schoolgirls, you shouldn’t be surprised.”
